11/5/12

Hi!
I hope that things settle down. I think we will have one more transfer this week. That makes 5 weeks in a row having transfers. I'm not sure that has ever happened. haha
The two years always go by fast! Have you seen what week U am on? it was 67 right? that is way more than half way done. you guys  will be here before you know it, also, you will need to send me the flight information when you can. They have to plan my ticket with yours so we can fly to Argentina together then to the US. Not sure how it will work.
I remember that tree I planted at Taylor School!!! I am excited to see how big it has gotten.
Our office is in a 9 story building. The receptionist that is getting baptized is at the very bottom. I am the receptionist of the mission! I think she will travel this week, but she was marked to be baptized last Saturday. Hopefully she will before Saturday.
Also, we baptized this last week! Wellington is his name. He is 22 years old and has 3 kids already! miracle that he was baptized! I will send pictures when things here start to calm down.
Glad the PE teacher at Stratford remembers me. That was really fun to go and help teach the kids how to play volleyball.
Different to have to change the family traditions. We always had to have the parties at grandmas house, but now it won't happen anymore. But you are right, that is part of life.
So tomorrow we have a zone leader conference, so we have been preparing for that.
Everything is going well, we are working well in the office and better out of the office. We are happy, lets just say that.
Something that I learned on the mission is that people aren't baptized because their knowledge, but because of how they feel when we are with them, when they are at church, and when they pray. With Adriane we haven't had to explain anything to her because every time we teach she says she feels good. It would be so EASY if everyone listened to their feelings like her.
 love all of you!
Hope you have a good week!

10/29/12

Olá!
I forgot that it was even the week of Halloween, that means that Dan should be home already. I loved the stuff that was in the package, but I haven't opened nearly anything yet. I ate those macadamia nuts which were heavenly. And we haven't opened the syrups yet. Everything is still waiting for Christmas, don't worry.
Is Sara sending the rubber CTR rings? Every one here is wanting them.
I don't think every mission has the same problems that we have. Our mission has a reputation as one of the least obedient in the world hahaha. So... president is starting to crack down. At the transfer he spoke very seriously and very calmly about the problems that are happening and that if people didn't want to keep the rules they could ask to leave. (makes it easier for him)
You can choose to delete the story or send it to everyone it doesn't matter. But, there was an elder that met a girl and started to teach her. She was 25 or something like that, and turns out that she was married. The elder wasn't just teaching her though, but always talking to her on the phone, sending emails to her and the husband found out. He went looking for this elder with a gun wanting to kill him. He had to run away and was placed in the middle of nowhere until president could get permission to send him home. He says that he wasn't doing anything, but the guy had to have a reason to want to find him and kill him. It was a big confusion, and it was his last transfer....
Did the sharks season really get cancelled!!!!!??? hahahahaha that is hilarious. Sad for you guys but funny. That's called Karma. You wait for me to leave the country to buy season tickets.
The office is good, and we help the entire mission instead of all the people that we would usually help on the street. I said to Steve that we will baptize a man this week, next week we will baptize the receptionist to the office, the week after the receptionsist's sister and after that a young man that has being going to church for a year. It is a miracle, but we are being able to teach all of this people. One is super easy because we see her every day and she decided to go to church with us and loved it. Anyway, the work is going well in the office and as a missionary. Hopefully we can keep it up!
Also, this last week all of the new missionaries got here. Strange to think back to my first week. I called some of them today to see how they were doing, the only one that had a few problems was the American sister. She was culture shocked and feels like she cant contribute to anything. She is better now though. It is only the first week.
Anyway, love you all and hope you have a good week!
