1/7/13

Hello,
All of the areas are safe here. The only problem is when you aren't a missionary anymore.
That is so lame that it took the Sharks so long for them to agree and start playing again. Was it a problem with their salary? usually is.
That book is awesome, everyone is laughing at me and calling me trunky. They are just jealous.
I still haven't gotten Teresa's package. Not sure why it is taking so long. When you come, I think it would be good to buy some of those 5 dollar byu shirts to give away. Maybe some that say San Jose too. Elder Douglas has been wanting basketball shorts, so if you can bring him a pair that would make him really happy. The only problem is that I cant give anything that I get from you guys away because they are all extra large tall haha. I gave away one of my shorts in my first area and the almost touched the floor on the other missionary! It would be better if you guys could bring some smaller shirts though.
For president Gonzaga, I am not really sure what he likes. I will think of something.
About public transportation... not sure if it would be the best idea here. Maybe in Sao Paulo it is a little better, but it would be so much easier faster and cheaper to rent a car. And don't even worry about cops in Maceio, they don't even exist. I asked Elder Pajaro about the hotels and he said that he stayed in one for 20 reais a night. Then I told him that it couldn't be ghetto, and he said it was good. Not sure what part of the neighborhood he lived in, but I will continue to look.
I heard about the volleyball game from Sara and Steve, and I read a little bit. I told Steve to be my scout and see what position I needed to play at. He will worry about that until I get back. Take cookies to the team! they will love that again.
I haven't even started to pack, and yeah my replacement is ready. There are still some questions that he asks, but that is normal. He will be able to call me after if he needs. Speaking of wacky missionaries, we (pres, assistants and secretaries) always make a top 5 of the funniest/weirdest/craziest missionaries. One of them is my replacement, and it was super funny when he was announced.
I will let you guys know on Friday where I will be going.
Things here are going well. We are getting ready for Elder Bednar, and for the transfer. I am happy, it will
be the last time that I get ready for a transfer or a meeting. That will be nice.
In 2 weeks I will have some things more exciting to tell you guys. I will actually be teaching and out on the street. Love you guys!
LOVE ELDER JAKE LANGLOIS
